CV Services

A CV/Resume presents your unique combination of experience.  Not all hiring authorities have technical knowledge, in your field, to assess your skills.  Please make it easy for them by not using technical abbreviations.

Consider making it no more than two pages and if necessary add a separate page, listing in a certain order your technical qualifications.Below are some suggestions :

• Always include your country of residence
  
• Attach the country code to any telephone numbers
  
• What is your nationality
  
• Clearly state your level of education. Do you have interim qualifications or technical certificates.  If you have a degree, state the discipline that you qualified in and which university
  
• What countries have you worked in
  
• What languages do you speak
  
• List clearly the natural resources and soil type you have experience of
  
• What software have your used
  
• You might have the authority to check, supervise or report on standards such as health & safety or the requirements of a stock exchange listing
  
• Engineers will be familiar with types of equipment, extraction and processes
  
• Even if you are seeking a business support or financial position, our comments are relevant to these positions also
  
• Report the companies you have worked in, commenting on dates that you were not working or studying
  
• As a graduate, all/any work experience is important.  It can demonstrate your potential, determination and ambition
  
• Hobbies and sports tell an employer about how you prefer to spend your leisure time.  Playing team sports or singularly reading, provides a snapshot of your potential for certain jobs
  
• Interpreting abbreviations can be very difficult.  We suggest you take the time to state information in full

Covering Letters

Use this to briefly explain why you believe you have the relevant experience to do the job you are applying for.  If you are applying for a position that would be a promotion, you need to put a good case for your selection in one or two sentences.
