MEDICAL INFORMATION OFFICER - SOUTH EAST
A fantastic opportunity to work for a top 10 global pharmaceutical company with an enviable product pipeline. Based in the south east of England, the role offers an exceptional opportunity to develop skills difficult to experience in alternative companies.
An opportunity has arisen for a Life Sciences or Pharmacy graduate with Medical Information experience to join the Medical Information Team. The position will involve working with the full range of products and a variety of teams from across the company.
The department represents a key resource to the company offering a full range of timely, accurate information services on the company’s diverse product range. Because this role involves close liaison with a wide variety of customers both internal and external it represents an ideal opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the company and of the industry as a whole.
The position would appeal to someone with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a lively interest in learning more about the company’s products and information retrieval systems as the role will involve:
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
• Providing a comprehensive medical/technical service to all users of the company’s products through the retrieval, evaluation and presentation of high quality information using in-house and external information sources
• Providing information support services to meet the needs of the business teams, field based staff and other in-house personnel
• Recording adverse drug events and suspected quality complaints and liaising with customers and other in-house personnel to ensure that the appropriate responses, to meet statutory and duty of care obligations, are fully met
• Supporting customer facing teams (e.g. field force, Medical Development Advisors) with client contacts allowing for optimisation of relationship building opportunities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:
• Ideally, some experience of providing medical information and technical support within the pharmaceutical industry or a hospital environment
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Good computer skills, including knowledge of text retrieval systems and effective use of the internet
• Attention to detail
• An ability to work as part of a team, as well as demonstrating an ability to manage and prioritise your own workload in a busy environment.
