An excellent opportunity to work as a Health Outcomes Programme Leader with a global pharmaceutical company based in Middlesex.
In this role you will be responsible for leadership of health outcomes strategy and implementation for products, to inform brand strategy, influence our customers and hence to maximize commercial return.
To develop and implement new ways of working with emerging customers groups within the NHS to capitalize on the outcomes agenda and identify offerings that will meet the needs of customers and maximize opportunities for the clients medicines and services.
Membership of the Health Outcomes leadership team, including line management of 1- 2 health outcomes managers/executives.
Leadership of health outcomes activity to generate and exploit high quality and timely data to support the future and continued access of a broad section of the portfolio to the UK market, via membership of the UK brand team and working closely with other appropriate brand teams,the Centre of excellence and Global health outcomes.
UK representative on appropriate European market access strategy teams including the development of a UK position on the Phase 3 plans for any new assets in the therapy areas.
Development and implementation of the strategy to ensure the optimum positioning of brands within NICE, SMC (Scottish Medicines Consortium) and AWMSG (All Wales Medicines Strategy Group) guidance via an excellent understanding of the changing needs of these customer groups, including forming effective relationships with key external opinion leaders to inform the development of the strategy, leading the development of appropriate submissions, agreeing our approach with senior stakeholders across the business and all interactions with these government agencies.
To input into pricing decisions for new and existing brands to ensure that cost-effectiveness is considered, including advising on potential scenarios dependent on future information.
To communicate health outcomes information to appropriate customers as required (likely to be more senior or technical and therefore cannot be performed by customer facing staff).
To deliver technical capability training requirements in appropriate customer facing staff (IHMs, HHBM’s, HOC’s) to ensure they are able to communicative Health Outcomes messages effectively to customers.
Proven capability of outcomes research including health economics within the pharmaceutical industry.
Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and working across the business to generate and define health outcomes strategies for vaccines as well as other brands and services.
Requirements
Outstanding leadership and influencing skills up to UK management team level
Excellent disease, product, competitor and epidemiological knowledge is required
Efficient communication and influencing skills with the ability to explain complex technical conceptsto a non – technical audience and across a diverse customer group
Ability to work with and keep up to date on trends in health economics and modelling
Confidence to lead and operate in an uncertain environment
Excellent understanding of the NHS as well as prescribing and commissioning issues and customer needs for outcomes evidence.
Capability in development of complex outcomes tools (eg computer models) for use with customers.
Excellent understanding of NICE, Scottish Medicines Consortium and JCVI including ability to develop strategies based on existing evidence, lead the development of submission and manage the interface with these agencies (latter NICE and SMC only).
Experience of effective man management
Creativity to identify and develop innovative solutions to emerging requirements of NHS customers.
