1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
• To effectively manage the activities of individual studies in a manner that ensures all timeframes and targets are met and that costs are kept under control.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
OVERALL
• * Manages projects in a timely manner in adherence with SOPs and appropriate regulations and liaises with other department managers as necessary to achieve this.
• * Leads the development and maintenance of project management documents, including but not limited to, project timelines, project management plans, communication plans and risk analysis plans.
• * Leads the review/approval of project related materials, including but not limited to, protocol/guidelines, informed consent forms, case report forms, site training materials, reports, newsletters.
• * Leads monitoring the quality specification within the project.
• * Liaises with clients on project related matters.
• * Leads the assessment of site training and management processes with Manager, Site Management Department, in an effort to ensure project efficiency and consistency.
• * Leads the management of project financials, including but not limited to, change in scope, client and vendor invoicing/reimbursement, grant payments.
• * Keeps individual project costs under control.
• * Supports liaising with other managers to improve the effectiveness of the organization.
• * Keeps senior management informed of project status in relation to quality, timelines and staff issues.
• * Maintains confidentiality of management information as appropriate.
• * Supports participation in interviewing process and hiring efforts.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
• * Supports the formation of strategic alliances with internal and external customers.
• * Supports the development of proposals for new business.
• * Supports the development of proposal defense presentations.
• * Supports client capabilities presentations.
• Supports origination and participation in various external communication opportunities - speaking at conferences, writing journal articles, etc.

• * Able to produce clear, substantive and effective written communications.

• Leads active participation in Lunch and Learns, Journal Clubs or other internal company training sessions.
LEADERSHIP
• * Supports development and maintenance of practice-specific process documents (e.g., SOPs and Best Practice Guidelines).
• * Supports ensuring team compliance with all relevant LSG SOPs and Best Practice Guidelines.
• * Supports development and tracking of goals, budgets and other financial metrics for Project Management Department.
• * Supports identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives as appropriate.
MANAGERIAL/ ADMINISTRATIVE
• * Manages technical and administrative functions for multiple, simultaneous, complex projects.
• * Ensures project activities are consistent with project requirements and contractual scope of work.
• * Able to determine the multiple tasks involved in a project or assignment and prioritize their completion.
• * Ability and willingness to travel (International and Domestic) up to 25%.

• Three or more years of relevant experience are required.
• Minimum required education (with a background in medicine, science or relevant discipline preferred) is a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
