Contract Manager - Clinical Development

This position is availible on a contract or permanant basis and there is flexibility with regards to which of their offices in the South East / London area you can be based at.
Main Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage activities related to the outsourcing of clinical services, negotiation and maintenance of contracts for CROs and technical suppliers for our client. Supporting the implementation and management of global outsourcing processes. Tracking budgets, savings, metrics and audit status and performance of external suppliers.
Main Responsibilities:
• Coordinating Requests for Proposal (RFP), CRO presentations, budget analysis, and service provider selection
• Clarifying scope of work, budget, timelines, roles and responsibilities with internal teams
• Tracking status of active and completed contracts
• Ensuring terms, conditions, milestones and payments schedules are adhered to
• Supporting project teams in the identification and resolution of performance issues
• Negotiating change orders / amendments to contracts as required
• Liaising closely with the Legal department with respect to i) contractual terms and other legal/financial documents required , ii) timelines for finalisation of agreements
• Maintaining knowledge on service provider services and capabilities and industry trends
• Act as a point of contact for service provider business contacts
• Liaising closely as needed with international affiliates with regards to specific contract requirements for global projects/studies.
• Developing and implementing new processes for outsourcing

Qualifications Required:
• Degree. plus second degree or CIPS qualification desirable.
Desirable experience:
• Experience of negotiating and tracking progress of clinical contracts, ensuring compliance with contracts during progress of projects, liaison and consultation with legal department.
• Knowledge and experience of monitoring CRO performance metrics
Experience required:
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience of managing clinical contracts within the pharmaceutical industry or within the CRO environment to include experience in: negotiation of contracts with CROs, technical service providers, consultants etc.
