This key role plays a crucial part in the Account Management team for one of the largest CROs in the world that provides a broad range of services to the biopharmaceutical, and medical device industries. They require a Director of Account Management at their UK office in Middlesex (West London) who will serve as the overall client relationship manager and strategic business partner for key accounts, in liaison with Practice Leaders and Subject Matter Experts.
JOB ROLE: Reporting to the VP of Account Management, the Director will be responsible for developing and expanding new business opportunities within established accounts and prospective clients, overseeing the sales process and coordinating with Practice Leaders and subject matter experts to ensure client satisfaction.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include:
• Actively prospecting for new clients and leveraging potential new business opportunities within assigned geography.
• Cultivating strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers within accounts.
• Leading the entire sales process; preparing and leading the sales presentation.
• Requesting proposal team and leading the proposal effort.
• Writing, reviewing and approving proposals and contracts with responsibility for delivery to client.
• Ensuring changes in scope are appropriately negotiated with the client.
• Maintaining high visibility within client organisation.
• Monitoring client satisfaction by communicating regularly with customer.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Advanced degree in a scientific or technical discipline or MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
• Higher graduate studies in business or scientific discipline are a plus.
• Substantial experience in 'contract-based' sales in any industry
• Substantial experience in Life Sciences: Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Device, or Consulting
• Demonstrated industry and business leadership experience.
• Proven sales track record in developing new clients and ability to close deals.
• Proven understanding of the Life Science marketplace.
• Excellent stakeholder/relationship management skills.
• Proven success preparing business plans and strategies.
• Proposal development experience.
• Proficiency in German and/or French a plus.
