Director, Lab (Biomarker Services)
Primary Location: Menlo Park, CA
Field Base Area:
Requirements: The Director, Lab coordinates and optimizes Biomarker operations within the Biomarker Services Group. Allocates resources, facilities and personnel where necessary. Also, plans, organizes and develops policies and ensures proper implementation. This position provides technical leadership as well as building, developing and driving new business.
Direct supervisor of a department, section, unit or group involving responsibility for results in terms of cost, methods and personnel. Full accountability for hiring, discipline, discharge, performance appraisals, salary administration, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
.BS in Biology/Chemistry or related field (MS/PhD preferred)
.Six - ten years experience as scientific/technical department manager
.Or equivalent combination of educations, training and experience that proved the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
.Knowledge of drug discovery/biomarker techniques and procedures including flow cytometry
.General business management skills
.Extensive customer and client interfacing capabilities
.Knowledge of computer capabilities and applications
.Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry
