Quanticate names president of US unit
UK biometrics CRO Quanticate (Hitchin, Hertfordshire) has appointed Andrew MacGarvey as president of its US operations, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He will continue to direct the company’s global sales activities.
“We have been handling clinical trials for our US customers here and overseas for some time. Our mission now is to grow the office and add more operational elements,” Mr MacGarvey said. “The market grew by 15% last year and this growth looks set to continue … Much of the growth will be from US companies conducting trials here and overseas.”
Prior to joining Quanticate, Mr MacGarvey was a director at electronic data capture specialist Datatrial, where he was involved in expanding service offerings and entering the US market. He previously held technology and operational positions at Omnicare, Statwood and PRA International.
Quanticate was formed in December 2007 from the merger of Statwood and Oxford Pharmaceutical Sciences. It is a full-service CRO specialising in biometrics and medical writing with a proprietary EDC/paper system, ClinNav. The company set up its first US operation in Boston in July 2007. In addition to its UK and US headquarters, it has three additional offices in the UK; one in Warsaw, Poland; and another in Bloemfontein, South Africa. It employs 200 staff.
