PPD has an exciting opportunity for a Network Security Architect to join the IT team here at our Cambridge office on Granta Park.
As a Network Security Architect you will act as a consultant to top management in long range company planning concerning new or projected areas of security. You will be responsible for recommending security tools and platforms, as well as technical and process controls in order to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of company data. As a Network Security Architect you will lead all phases of enterprise level security information technology projects, including planning, research, analysis and testing. You will also take responsibility for leading the evaluation of security services provided by competing vendors and make suitable recommendations to senior management. You will need to be someone who is able to work independently, exercising you’re your own judgement, methods and techniques for obtaining results.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated expertise of network, operating systems, programming, cloud, telecommunication and/or IT security technologies and platforms
· Expert knowledge of security technologies and platforms
· Strong logic and problem solving skills
· Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
· Advanced level of skill in tools used for analysis and presentation of data
· Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives on both strategic and tactical levels
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12+ years’ in network communication, systems administration and/or IT security systems in addition to training in advanced applications, including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in network security or IT security systems project management) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
