A growing independent Medical Communications agency is looking for a Senior Medical Writer or Editorial Team Leader to join a busy account working across mainly publications but also advisory boards and a range of other medical education materials.
The SMW will proactively manage their own workload to consistently deliver high-quality content within given timelines whilst also provide guidance, coaching and support to less experienced writers.
The ETL takes on the responsibilities of the SMW, but is also responsible for the review of written materials (both by themselves and less experienced writers), line management of junior writers and being the scientific point of contact for internal teams and clients.
This is a brilliant opportunity for the successful candidate to be part of a supportive team in a flourishing MedComms agency, taking control of the management of a varied and exciting account.
Salary (If applicable)
SMW Up to 45k
ETL 45-55k (negotiable dependent on experience)

Role / Description
Main Job Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality written materials (mostly publications)
Proactively manage workload to ensure timelines are met.
Support and mentor less experienced writers.
Take responsibility for knowledge of therapy areas and industry regulations.
Review written materials and provide feedback to less experienced writers.
Develop strong relationships to provide scientific guidance to internal teams and client.
Provide line management support to junior writers.
Identify resourcing issues including sourcing freelance support.
Assisting with account timelines and budgets in regards to the writing team.
Life Sciences degree (PhD preferred).
Three years plus medical writing experience, five years plus for ETL.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An understanding of the industry local and international regulations.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Excellent presentation skills.
Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proven business development skills.
Strong attention to detail and high organizational skills.
